Welcome to NSLC Adopt A Stream - Celebrating 20 years of Habitat Restoration

The NSLC Adopt A Stream Program provides funding and technical
support to help community volunteer organizations
undertake projects to protect, repair and improve the
aquatic and riparian habitats of local wetlands, lakes,
streams, rivers and estuaries in Nova Scotia.

Our projects

Restored 2,171,988 square meters of degraded stream habitat
Planted 200,901 streamside trees
553 culverts assessed and 85 remediation actions taken
Re-established 395 km of fish passage
35 community based groups participate
4,522 volunteers / 124,415 hours of their time
