Mabou, Inverness, Port Hood & Judique Watershed Restoration

ISAA’s 2017 Migratory Access & Habitat Restoration Project is a continuation of the work that we have prosecuted throughout our Inverness South watersheds over the past 13 years. The crew will spend 5-6 weeks revisiting previous habitat restoration sites and ensure migratory access to them by clearing winter debris, new beaver blockages and making minor repairs to existing infrastructure.  The balance of the 18 week instream work season will be spent on habitat improvements on the Graham’s River, both hand and machine work according to the 2015 Graham’s River & Captain’s Brook Restoration Plan.  Planned work will be consist of four main aspects:  machine work to bank stabilization; hand build instream structures, the removal of a large beaver dam and the assessment and possible remediation of a barrier culvert.
